Router Configuration - UPnP

If you have on your computer the operating system Windows ME or Windows XP and your router supports Microsoft's UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)and it's enabled in the router configuration, then with help of a script file you can configure your router with one click, that the moove ports will be forwarded automatically (port forwarding) and moove Roomancer is not in web mode anymore, as long as the moove Roomancer ports won't be blocked by a firewall, a proxy or a network.

Router of the new generation (and partial older too - ROM Update) have in many cases Microsofts UPnP. Using the following VB Script the moove ports will be automatically entered in the router and on the computer you have run moove Roomancer the ports will be forwarded:
VB Script for configuration of UPnP for moove online

Properties:

  • Router needs to support UPnP and UPnP needs to be enabled on the router (by default it's not enabled on all router models - if it's not enabled, then first you need to open the router configuration menu and then UPnP must be enabled)

  • The script must be run before each start of moove online, at least when the computer or the router was switched off in between.

  • Some antivirus programs (e.g. McAfee) react "sensitive" to this VB script, because it reads out data from the registry (configurated moove ports) and therefore such antivirus program displays a message as e.g.: suspicious script detect - Allow? Yes/No

Proceeding:

1. Please check (in manual) if you router supports UPnP. Otherwise activate this functionality in the router configuration menu when you are unsure if that is activated by default.
When you don't know how to enter the router configuration menu, then please let this the moove Support know. Please tell us, which exact router model you use and the Support will contact you then.

2. Click on the above link "VB Script for configuration of UPnP for moove online" and download the package "mooveports_UPnP.zip"

3. Extract the file in a folder which you can always rapid find.
Recommendation: Extract it on the desktop or in the moove installation folder (usually c:\moove).

4. You can run the script via a double click now. Afterwards you can start moove Roomancer. The script needs to run again, when the computer or the router was switched off in between.
Recommendation: With a double click on the script file you can e.g. create a shortcut to it. For example: You can move the shortcut to the desktop.

When you still have further questions, then the moove Support is available.
