If you
are made buddy by other members, you receive popularity points.
However, popularity points from basic members will only be added to your
popularity count once the basic members have become full members.
Please note: The popularity medal color and the number of
popularity points is NOT defined by your own buddies. The color and number
depends on the number of users that have made you buddy.
If members exclude each other, popularity points will be deducted from
both parties.
Of course no one should be kept from making justified exclusions. For
example, if 100 other members make you buddy, you will receive 106
popularity points. So with an "average" number of exclusions, you will
still have one popularity point per buddy.
If members de-exclude others later on, this deduction for exclusions is
reduced.
If members are new, their popularity is not only decided on the absolute
value but also on a relatively higher value. This value takes into account
that new members could not have been online as often, meaning their
popularity couldn't have had any great effects yet. In this case, the
popularity medal's tool tip will show a little extra notice: "(related to
online count)"
If you look at your own profile, you will also get to see the value of
your own popularity points.
